The producer
The Girard family’s roots at Alaigne go back to 1928. In the 1980s, André and Marie-Hélène reshaped the vineyard’s plantings; in 2000, Philippe began producing the first vintages under the Domaine Girard name. Continuity here has involved a succession of choices about what to grow and how to present it.
Malepère gives the journey its starting point. The range also reaches into Limoux: the estate describes Las Salvios as Chardonnay from south-facing, high-elevation parcels, harvested by hand and raised in barrel.
